Robert "Kevin" Spragg was born on October 7, 1962 at Little Rock Air Force Base to Eddie and Anita Spragg and he passed away June 20, 2022 in Memphis, TN. After living the life of an Air Force kid along with his brother, Steve, the family settled at home in Memphis. Kevin graduated from Sheffield High School and went on to attend Shelby State Community College. Kevin worked over 25 years for BNSF Railway and was Local Yard Chairman of SMART TD Union Local 1420, where he was regularly sought-after by his colleagues for guidance, advice, and a friendly, no B.S., humorous personality.
With his wife Georgia (Cooper), Kevin loved entertaining family and friends, traveling, and collecting antiques. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and during the season you could usually find him in a chair somewhere fast asleep with the sounds of baseball in the background. He was an exceptional cook, loved classic movies, Yacht Rock (!), and being with the people he loved. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He constantly checked on and helped others. Always finding the good in everything, he had a wonderful sense of humor and the best laugh. His presence will be missed beyond measure.
Along with Georgia Cooper Spragg, Kevin is survived by his mother, Anita Spragg; brother, Steve Spragg (Paula); sons Jesse Cooper (Lizzy); Ryan Spragg (Cindy), Tyler Spragg (Sydney), granddaughters Molly Elizabeth Cooper and Allie Spragg and grandson Ozzy Spragg; nephew Hunter Spragg; nieces Sophie Townsend and Megan Rasberry. He also leaves behind a large extended family with relatives both from birth and by marriage, as well as many friends who were like family to him.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Kevin with an open house at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue on Saturday, June 25 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. https://www.dignitymemorial.com . The family requests that in lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the World Wildlife Fund.
