Robert Gene Roberson

Robert “Bobby” Roberson passed away on April 11, 2013. A lifelong Memphian, he was born on December 24, 1931 to Conon and Roxie Roberson. He retired from International Harvester after a 35 year career and enjoyed numerous part-time jobs and hobbies during his retirement. He served in The United States Air Force and the TN Air National Guard. He loved spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle, working on his model trains and in his woodworking shop. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church and the Gold Wing Riders Association of Memphis W2 Chapter and MS Chapter Y.

He leaves his 2 daughters Janice Roberson Hall (John) and Terri Roberson Johnston (Daryl): his granddaughters, Whittaker Anne Johnston and Grayson Elizabeth Johnston; his youngest brother, Raymond Roberson; a sister, Peggie Sue Weir and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in his death by wife of 37 years Dolores Moore Roberson and his brothers Conon Roberson and John “JB” Roberson.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 pm. on Sunday, April 14 at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Avenue. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm., Monday, April 15 at Hope Presbyterian Church and burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. The family requests memorials to be sent to the Church Health Center of Memphis, or the Methodist Hospital Hospice.
