Robert leaves behind Tracey, his wife of 35 years; his son, Andrew and wife Kathleen; his son, Robert Jr., wife Clare and grandson, Wesley; his mother, Ann Moffit; his sister, Ann Tutor; his brother Donald Moffit and wife, Cindy; as well as nieces, nephews, other family, and his many friends.
Robert had a lifelong commitment to helping others. He never met a stranger, knew people wherever he went, and was by all accounts a loyal friend and extraordinary person. As one of the many people who have reached out to the family shared, he was a good man who has been a role model for so many who did for his family and others unselfishly and was a hero in every sense of the word.
Robert was a coach for youth sports, was a Scout Master for the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America, volunteered for numerous organizations throughout the years, and helped friends and neighbors in any way he could. He was an avid camper, gun enthusiast, and animal lover. A private ceremony for family only will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Saturday, January 16, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America at https://www.chickasaw.org/honorary-memorial or the Memphis Humane Society at https://memphishumane.org/donate/ in Robert’s name.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FamilyFuneralMemphis.com for the Moffit family.
