On Saturday, January 9, 2021, Robert “Bob” Boswell passed away peacefully in his Somerville, TN home. Bob was born December 17, 1926 in Noxapater, MS to Ernest and Vera Boswell. After serving in the U.S. Navy, his lifelong career was as a mechanical contractor. He was founder and owner of Southland Mechanical Contractors. He was also a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church-Cordova. Bob was a devoted husband to his wife of 42 years, Janie, and a wonderful father to Cheryl Boswell Aue (Ed) of HI; Cris Boswell (Alice) of TN; and Lindsey Boswell Graham (Scotty) of TN. He was also the proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and uncle to Sarah Fuqua Perkins. Bob’s passion was boating and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed weightlifting and was an avid Ole Miss football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wendell; and sister, Annie Mae. The family would like to recognize the compassionate care and friendship given by Dr. Jeffrey Kerlan, Dr. Al Weir, and caregiver, Jessie Edwards. A visitation will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova; 8899 Trinity Road, Cordova, TN 38018 on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 12-1pm. The funeral service will follow at 1pm. Burial will take place at a later date at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN 38125. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church-Cordova or The American Heart Association.
