Ricky worked for the family business, Otto Electric since 1989. Known as "Big Daddy", he loved his grandchildren, enjoyed going to the beach, and watching NASCAR and Alabama football. He also enjoyed spending a lot of time poolside, and installed a swimming pool in every home he purchased. Everybody he met was his friend.
He is survived by love of his life, Cindy Yarbrough; parents, Jack and Cindy Otto; siblings, Janice Adams, Lane Andrews (Crystal), Todd Andrews (Tracy), Laura Hollis (Matt Talley), Rhonda Otto Berryhill, Jerry Otto (Terry), Denise Vazquez (Carlos), Kelly DeKilder (Ed), and Woodrow Carter; children, Brad Carter (Tanya), Rolison Carter, and Richard Carter, Jr.; grandchildren, Sadie, Sawyer, and Lyla Carter, JW and Chase Carter, Lanier and Knox Mundy, and Anakin and Bryson Stimpson. Without listing names, Ricky is loved by so many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by father, Woodrow C. Carter.
The family will receive friends at the visitation on Monday, March 14 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at 12:00 PM, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Lisman (Butler), Alabama.
