Rebecca Sue Halbert Morgan, affectionately known as Becky, was a remarkable woman whose journey through life left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on April 13, 1944, in Memphis, TN, she was the beloved daughter of Mary and Henry Halbert.
Becky's life was a testament to resilience and determination. Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease seven years ago, she faced this challenge with grace and courage.
She graduated from White Station High School in 1962, marking the beginning of her extraordinary journey. On April 5, 1969, she married Fred Bradley Morgan in Memphis, TN, and together they embarked on a life filled with adventure and love.
Becky was a loving mother to Wendy Pietri (Bryan), Kim Latkovic (Tom), and Rebekah Jameson (Matt). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Morgan, Matt, Maggie, Kate, Cole, Caleb, Patrick, Oliver, and Raegan. She is also survived by her brother, Eddie Halbert, and sister-in-law, Betty.
Becky's early years were marked by her passion for travel, and she pursued her dream of exploring the world by working as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. Her wanderlust was insatiable, and she cherished the memories of backpacking through Europe with Fred.
In the latter part of her life, Becky devoted herself to women's ministries at Hope Presbyterian Church and Fellowship Memphis. She was a guiding light, helping women overcome challenges in their lives and encouraging them to live to their fullest potential as designed by God. Her unwavering faith and dedication were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Becky's deep connection with her faith was a central part of her life. She walked hand in hand with God every day, finding her greatest joy in ministering to other women and building meaningful relationships.
On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 6:29 AM, Becky peacefully concluded her seven-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 79.
