A phenomenal woman, Paula Richardson was born December 16, 1965 in Memphis, TN to Jewel Richardson and Helery Richardson. She was the 1st child of 5 children blessed of that union. She had a kind, warm, comical, and very loving personality that could always be expected whenever she was around.
Paula pursued her early education at Chickasaw Jr. High and higher learning at Hillcrest High School, Memphis, TN. She knew Christ in her early childhood, her mother would take her to Emmanuel COGIC. She also attended Greater New Beginning under the leadership of Rev. Floyd Brown, TH.D, where she stole the hearts of all the members.
Paula’s career path included managing and owning different businesses throughout the city of Memphis, TN. Paula also worked for the City of Memphis at Orange Mound Community Center where she became more than just an employee, she became a friend to many and to some Paula became so close until it was as a family bond, her smile, her kind words, and love just poured over to others.
Paula traveled to different cities including Chicago, IL. She had become a basketball mom to many young boys as they played sports with the AAU team, with her husband being one of the coaches.
Paula became ill and had her husband, children, siblings, and family to care for her when needed.
Paula was preceded in death by her son, Larry Thomas Richardson; mother, Jewel Richardson; father, Helery Richardson; grandmother, Linnie Mae Boothe; and grandfather, Zeddie Boothe.
Paula leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband of 32 years, Tony Henderson; a daughter, Shenica Richardson Ford (Tim); sons, Cedric Richardson (Crystal), Mike Larry Richardson (Leslie), Steven Payne (Robin), and Triston Payne; 12 grandchildren, Destarrio Abraham, Shavetria Richardson, Tatyana Richardson, Chance Michael Thomas Butler, RayShun Horton, Zeddie Richardson, Timiracle Ford, Timiyha Ford, Calayha Butler, Steven Payne, Jr. (SJ), Jaxon Payne, and Elijah Payne; and great-grandchild, Raylynn Turner all of Memphis, TN; sisters, Yvette Lawson, Sheronda Armstrong Ballard (Tony); brothers, Larry Milam and Jerry Armstrong all of Memphis, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 5-8pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 11am-1pm at Morning Star Church World Wide Ministries, 3161 Park Ave., Memphis, TN 38111 with interment to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134.
