Patricia Gesell Carr of Cotter, Arkansas, passed away October 5, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 91. She was born September 23, 1930, in Bloomington, Illinois, the daughter of Walter and Gretchen Ross Gesell. She married her high school sweetheart, Ben Carr on May 16, 1949, in Hernando, Mississippi and they spent 72 amazing years together. Patricia was a very active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Memphis, Tennessee as the Sunday school teacher, a youth group advocate, and also in the Church's choir. She was a huge fan of the Memphis Tiger football and basketball teams. Patricia had a passion for gardening and enjoyed sharing that passion with her family, especially the grandchildren. Patricia and Ben greatly enjoyed fishing and dancing together. Their last dance together was at their 70th wedding anniversary; Mr. Carr says it was a slow one. Patricia was an excellent wife, mother, and grandmother. She is very loved and will be greatly missed.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Ben Carr of Cotter, Arkansas; sons, Glenn (Martha) Carr, of Counce, Tennessee, and Michael (Kelly) Carr, of Hagerstown, Maryland; daughters, Patricia (Ed) Miller, of Hernando, Mississippi, and Sheri (Don) Grear, of Memphis, Tennessee; sister, Judy (Bill) Jaros, of Hobe Sound, Florida; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
