Norris Layne Frazier passed away peacefully Friday evening, July 9th, 2021, at his home in Germantown, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Newport, R.I on June 23rd, 1945 and raised in the Lakewood/Long Beach area of Southern California. There he attended Riley Elementary, Hoover Junior High, and graduated from Lakewood High School in the class of 1963. He went on to obtain his law degree from Western State College of Law. He and Maureen, his wife of almost 50 years, moved to Germantown, TN in 2019. Norris was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1966-1968, computing firing distances for the 11th Artillery, Battery A. He was a retired attorney, stockbroker, and landlord. He was also a distinguished member of MENSA. Norris was admired and respected by many friends, colleagues, and clients throughout his career.
Norris was a Renaissance man. He excelled at virtually everything he tried. He never stopped reading and he took a keen interest in current events as well as ancient and European history. He loved music and was a fine concert pianist; he also enjoyed listening to music, especially opera.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine (nee Mason) and Norris Frazier, sisters Diana Budwig-Hodge (nee McDonald) and Sharon Maska (nee MacDonald), and his beloved aunt, Virginia McCreery. He received special loving support and help from Maureen's cousin, Kay Siler Littleton, and her husband, Wayne.
Norris also had a deep love and abiding affection for his dear cousin, Kristina Mason. She was of invaluable help to him during his struggle with an especially difficult strain of thyroid cancer which cost him his voice ten years ago.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 22nd at 3:00 pm at the Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway Bartlett, TN 38133.
