Nancy Gray, 95 year old widow of A. Floyd Gray, arrived in Heaven July 10, 2017, to be forever with our LORD.
A resident of Memphis since 1945, Nancy earned her undergraduate degree at Memphis State University and taught kindergarten while earning her Master’s degree in education. She taught high school mathematics in the Memphis City Schools until retirement.
Known as “Fancy” by her grandchildren, she was known and loved as always kind, a great cook, savvy gardener, devout Christian, member of Bellevue Baptist Church, PTA president, Scout leader, and generally the Kool-Aid Mom! We love her so much, and will miss her constantly. We were fortunate to have been in her presence all these years, and to be blessed by her strong, steady example of living joyfully in our LORD, no matter the circumstance.
She is survived by 2 of her 3 sons Mike Gray & Van Gray, as well as her daughter Reba Gray Clark, all of Memphis. Her second son, John Gray, preceded her in death in 2015. She was so proud of her 6 grandchildren Towns, Taylor, Rachel, and Jessica Gray, Jeanine Clark Ernst, and John Paul Clark, as well as 14 great grandchildren, ages 11 months to 19 years.
Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, has charge of all services, with visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 14; Funeral at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 15; burial will be in the John Elton Gray Family Cemetery in Rienzi, MS at 1pm Saturday. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His godly ones - Psalm 116 Verse 15 .
