She was educated in New York City and Memphis, where she attended Melrose School, Owen College, and University of Tennessee.
At an early age, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was reared and served in the Church of God in Christ, and was a member of the Lambert, Marianna Street, Williams Temple, pastored by the late R.L. Williams, and St James, pastored by the late Superintendent R.C. McNeal and the late Elder McDonald, all of Memphis. She also attended Kelly Temple pastored by the late Bishop O.M. Kelly in New York City.
She later united in holy matrimony to Elder C.L. Moore, and to that union were two children, William James Moore and Sharon Denise Moore. She held many positions and served faithfully with her husband who pastored churches in Memphis and Helena, AR.
She retired as a Supervisor in the Medical Records Department at the Regional Medical Center (The Med), after 31 years of service.
Minnie departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 6:24am, at Allenbrooke Nursing and Rehab center in Memphis, TN. Her son, William J. Moore (August 2019), daughter, Sharon (Arthur) D. Moore Blair (June 2020), and great-granddaughter Deidra (Cedric) Y. Moore Payton (January 2020) recently preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory her granddaughter, Antionette M. Moore Bogans (Timothy); great-grand children, Ronnita Moore, Romero Malone, Howard Brooks (Laqunda); great, great-grandchildren Deidrick Duroncelay, Madison Payton, Anniston Brooks and Carter Brooks; her surviving nieces and nephews, Maria Cook, Esther Cook Jones, Valerie Cook, Steven Cook, and Roscoe Cook III and their children, other relatives and friends.
By the grace of God, she was blessed with 91 years of life. Wise, conservative, and bold, she wanted to be known as saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost.
Regardless of if you knew her as “Madea”, “Mammie”, or “Miss Minnie”, she was still that classy and petite woman who had unwavering faith and dearly love the Lord.
