Words will fall short in this obituary. There is no way to truly capture the light and the love that Michael Evans embodied. The world is darker and the hole his absence will leave is immeasurable.
He faithfully dedicated his life in service to his country and his community. Michael served 8 years in the United States Army and completed two tours in Iraq. When he left the Army, he joined the Germantown Police Department where he served the citizens of his community for 9 years with pure kindness and compassion. He was born with a servant’s heart and a servant’s life he lived.
Although he loved his roles as Soldier and Officer, his favorite roles were Husband and Father. Michael and Emily met in 2006 and married January 12, 2008. They were married for 15 years and had four beautiful children. Michael filled the home with so much love and joy. He was always hiding behind a door or waiting to pull a prank on someone. His passion for life and laughter truly made every single day an Evans family adventure. Michael was the standard for husband and father. He loved his family and he loved them well.
He was also a Son, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle Mike, Grandson, Great Grandson, Cousin and Friend. It was truly an honor to know Michael and those who did will undoubtedly never forget him.
Michael is survived by his wife Emily and their four children, Jack, Emma, Ava and Levi; his Father and Step Mother, David and Debbie Evans; sister and Brother-in-law, Cynthia and Bruce Fernie (Evelyn, Owen, Maren and Baby Fernie); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Sheila Turpin; brother-in-law, Nick (Allyssa) Turpin (Chase and Waylon); brother-in-law Luke (Adison) Turpin; sister Amanda Bartlett (Alice and Derrick); brother Jesse Evans and nephew James Turpin.
