Mary L. "May May" Williams went home to heaven Wednesday morning, June 18, 2014, to be with the Lord and her heavenly family. She was born October 15, 1925, and her parents were Chief Engineer James W. Lewis and Waldean Lewis. She was a strong Christian woman who loved life and enjoyed meeting people. She was the "knitting queen" of the Mid-South having crocheted thousands of items for expectant moms. She was a member of the New Hope Church of God in Thorn, Ms, where her late husband, Rev. Grady C. Williams was the senior pastor. She was a full-time employee at Walmart-Olive Branch and enjoyed working with fellow employees. She is survived one son, John Joseph Guinozzo, III, who resided with his mom; two sisters, Jean Hawks and June Hime, both of Desoto Co., MS; four nieces, Jeanie Russell (that was more like a daughter than a niece) of Memphis, Janet Estridge of Desoto Co, MS, Linda Schulley and Diane Shields of Memphis; three nephews, James "Rick" Hawks and Richard Hawks, Jr. of Desoto Co., Ms and Mike Hime of North Dakota; she also leaves one stepson, Mitchell Williams and two stepdaughters, Marcy Alford and Pat Bowman; she also leaves a grandniece, LeLania McCown and four grandnephews, Jason, Jeffrey and Joey Estridge and Josh Hawks. There will be a visitation with refreshments from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel with the service Monday morning, June 23, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
