Mary Joyce Brewer, 88, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Mary Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James L. Brewer; son, Ronnie Brewer; her parents, Herman and Mamie Lou Mitchell; and her brother, Howard Mitchell. She is survived by her son, Scott Brewer; daughter, Kim Culbreath; grandchildren: Amanda Wilson, Christopher Brewer, Alyssa Culbreath, and Audrey Culbreath; and two great-grandchildren, Gunner and Raelyn Wilson. Mary Joyce met the love of her life, James Brewer, in 1951 while working at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. They married in 1952. In 1963 James transferred to Memphis where they lived until 1995 when they made their permanent home in Olive Branch, MS. She was an avid bowler and bowled in numerous leagues over the years where she made many lifelong friendships. Mary Joyce was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful, active member of Olive Branch Church of Christ. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Family Funeral Care on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens.
