Mary Ann Sharpe, 71 of Germantown died Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Collierville. The Real Estate Lady was Mary Ann Sharpe, having her car tag and business cards reading “RLSTLDY” and worked in the industry for over 40 years, most recently with Crye-Leike as Vice-President, Broker Agent for 30+ years. She was honored for her years having been given the title of Emeritus Real Estate professional. Her success is noted by being a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar club; she was also a member of NAR, MAAR and was honored with Crye-Leike’s Circle of Excellence. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion. Mary Ann was actively involved in the charitable organizations of Merry Makers, Women’s Guild of OLPH and Madonna Circle and was a member of a Red Hat Ladies Club of Germantown. Her hobbies included decorating her house for all seasons, music, ballroom dancing, playing bridge, attending her grandchildren’s activities and events and taking care of her 2 poodles, Jox and Josie. She was born on September 23, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri, lived there and married her sweetheart, Dennis Daniel Sharpe who preceded her in death. Mary Ann is survived by their three children, Jacqueline Sharpe Trobee (Mike), James Daniel Sharpe (Beth), Janice Sharpe-Lacy (Kevin); grandchildren Lauren, Lane, Katie and Libby all of Collierville. She is also survived by her only sister, Joanie Kowalak McCormick (Patrick) and nephew Zachary of Chesterfield, MO; sisters-in-law, Judith Sharpe and her daughter, Laura and family, Leslie Grappendorf (Robert) of Bakersfield, CA, their children Donnie and family of Chariton, IA, Kris and family of Bakersfield, CA and Heidi and family of Cincinnati, OH and sister-in-law, Deborah Compton of Espanola, NM and her family. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Marian Murphy Kowalak and Matthew Joseph Kowalak. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14 from 2-6 pm and on Sunday, December 15 from 4-8 pm with a wake service at 7 pm, where the family will invite friends to share their fond memories of Mary Ann. Both will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 16 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery immediately following Mass. Mary Ann was a very dear Mother, Grandmother and friend. She was always welcoming others into her circle. She will be missed by all who were a part of her world. Memorials may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization that Mary Ann supported every year.
