Mark Allen Bailey was born in Abbeville, Louisiana on February 19, 1961, and departed this world and went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 18, 2023, in Germantown, Tennessee after a short, devastating illness.
Mark was a 1979 Abbeville High School graduate and after many years of work and life received his bachelor’s degree from Emery-Riddle University in Aviation Management. He had many loves in his 62 years that included his best-friend and loving wife, Tina, his daughters, Christina and Anna, his precious grandchildren, playing music, travel, and a vast number of friends. His gift of service was shared with the church worship praise team to being so very generous with his time and talents of fixing, repairing, and building a variety of projects for family and friends. He recently celebrated 35 years of dedicated service at FedEx where he was a FAA Liaison.
Mark was set up early in life with a faithful Christian foundation from his wonderful mother and grandmother he lovingly called “Mom Mom.” He shared his faith and his love for Jesus with many and he truly felt that the music he played and loved so much, helped connect him to God.
Mark was preceded in death by his loving parents, Billy Carroll Bailey and Elvina DeHart Bailey. He leaves his wife, Tina Haney-Bailey of Germantown, TN, daughters, Christina Marie Bailey of Nashville, Anna Victoria Simmons (Matthew) of Germantown, and Lissette Bailey, mother of Christina and Anna. Bonus-children, Mikaela Haney Gusikuda (Lucas) of Bartlett and Samuel David Haney of Arlington. He also leaves behind his most loved grandchildren, Eden, Luca, and Haven. Mark was the baby of the family and leaves behind his sister, Ruth Ellen Bailey Touchet (Robert) and brother, Thomas Carroll Bailey, Sr. all of Abbeville, his niece, Laura Caroline Faught, nephews, Charles Max Martin (Crystal), Caleb Martin, Thomas Carroll Bailey Jr. and Kevin Joseph Bailey and many great nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
The Celebration of Life service will be held for family and friends in Memphis at Hope Church, Sunday, September 24, 2023, with a visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm and the service at 2:00 pm. Any memorials can be provided to the giver’s choice or to LeBonheur Children’s hospital which is near and dear to Mark and his family as they have been instrumental in helping his grandson, Luca.
