Don Huckaby was born April 3, 1944 in Oxford, MS to William Darwin Huckaby and Irma Lee Ramzy. He resided in Memphis most of his life. He was a graduate of Whitehaven High School where he played football, baseball, ran track and was a leader in his class. He attended Southwestern (Rhodes College) and Memphis State University. He was active in Whitehaven Jaycees, and was a member of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association where he served as both local and state president. He worked with his dad at Whitehaven Plumbing for many years and in 1976 established Don Huckaby Plumbing, which is now under the direction of his son, Eric. He was an avid outdoorsman, and over the years he and his wife Jackie enjoyed all forms of traveling and spending time at the lake. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Jackie Mullins Huckaby; a son, Eric Huckaby (Julie); a daughter, Cindy Foster (Kelly). He also leaves behind four grandchildren who he loved more than life itself, Becca Foster, Andrew Foster, Nathan Huckaby and William Huckaby. He also leaves two sisters, Melba Marcrum (Ronnie) and Connie Wagner (Larry); and a brother, Terry Huckaby (Clare). A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-5pm on Sunday, February 1. Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 2 beginning at 10:00am at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN.
