Margaret Ragghianti Morgan, 91, was born on May 14, 1921, to Italian immigrants, Fred and Maria Ragghianti. She was the youngest of five children, grew up in Memphis, and graduated from Catholic High School on Central Avenue. She worked in the office of Fisher Airplane Company during World War II, and in the spring of 1945, she met her husband, Tom Morgan, at the Catholic Club, and they married shortly after. She was a loyal and loving wife, and they celebrated over 66 years of marriage. As a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi, she sang in the senior choir, was a member of the Ladies of Charity, and assisted in the monthly church cleaning. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who kept her family together by welcoming everyone to Sunday lunch. She was known for cooking her Italian specialties handed down from her mother. She went to her heavenly home on Thursday July 26, 2012. “Nona” is survived by her husband, Tom Morgan; daughters, Linda Morgan and Peggy Gattas; sons, Larry Morgan (Christine), Tom Morgan (Merci), and Paul Daniel Morgan; grandchildren, Jason Morgan, Justin Morgan, Natalie Holmes, Allison Morgan, Morgan Gattas, and Meghan Gattas; great-grandchildren, Austin Morgan, Sydney Morgan, Brandon Morgan, Olivia Morgan, and Josie Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Rose Danovi and Edith Donati, and her brothers, Gabriel Ragghianti and James Ragghianti. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 29 at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar from 5-7 p.m. , followed by the praying of the Rosary. Funeral service will be Monday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
