Macon "Ray" Medlin, age 91, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Sunday April 7, 2024. Ray was born November 10, 1932 to the late Clarence and Hazel Medlin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Oatsvall Medlin and four siblings, Clarence Medlin, Jr. (Agnes), Helen Medlin Crosno (Glendal), Myron Medlin (Sue) and Ouida Medlin Dailey (Ronald).
Ray is survived by his daughter, Donna Medlin Allen, son-in-law Bobby Allen, Sr.. and step grandson Bobby "Joe" Allen, Jr. and seven nieces and nephews. Ray was a loving husband and father who worked in the printing business for almost 50 years. He was foreman for 25 years, and then went on to become an executive sales associate for Brunner Brothers Printing Company..
Ray's great love for music led to him playing with various musicians in his band for over 50 years, as a secondary job. After retiring, he also had a great interest in woodworking, refurbishing and reupholstering furniture and helped so many clients to make their furniture look new again. He truly enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors with anything he could. He always enjoyed the fellowship, as well.
Being an Army veteran, Ray's funeral services will be in the rotunda at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road in Memphis, Tennessee on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
