She was preceded in death by her husband of over 45 years, the late John W. Cannon, VI, her father Clifton L. Peacock and mother Courtney Cooper Peacock, a brother Bobby Peacock and sister Dovie Peacock Mulvaney (Jack) of Washington and her son in-law, Jim Collins.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Collins of Atlanta, GA and Renee Motta (Silvio) of Germantown, TN. Five loving grandchildren, Christy Collins Jones (James), Jared Collins (Heather), Dominique Motta, Mario Motta, Stephanie Motta, one precious great-grandson, Wesley Collins and her long time caregiver Lakeisha Miller. She also has many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mabel was born in Lepanto, Arkansas on March 29, 1931. Her family moved to Mississippi where she attended Calhoun City High School. After her graduation in 1949, she moved to Memphis, TN where she met and married the love of her life, John. The two were married on August 4, 1951. She and her husband enjoyed traveling America coast to coast and to Mexico and Canada. She and her oldest daughter, Denise ventured across Europe. She joined her youngest daughter, Renee and her family to visit Hawaii.
Professionally, she had many jobs in her life KB Photos, Olan Mills Photography and Wang's Oriental store. Her biggest joy was being a wife and mother. Mabel was a long time member of White Station Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be held at Memorial Park.
In lieu flowers the family requests donations be sent to the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
