Lynette H. Dalton went home to her Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, M.F. and Margaret Hamilton, her brother Robert Hamilton, her husband Robert E. Dalton and her son Alan Condron.
She is survived by her sisters Jane Hubbard (Don) of Knoxville, TN and Jean Welch of Humboldt, TN along with her children Robert Condron (Donna) of Milan, TN, and Cheryl Leger (Bob) of Collierville, TN and four grandchildren, Katie Leger of Raleigh, NC, Christopher Leger (Cari) of Collierville, TN, Jessica Condron of Milan, TN, and Justin Condron (Brandy) of Humboldt, TN.
Lynette was a lifelong learner. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Religion from Bethel University (1952), a Master of Education from the University of Memphis (1968) and a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary at the age of 85 (2016).
She spent her working career in both the private and public sectors as a devoted champion for civil rights, and those with physical and mental challenges.
Lynette was a woman of faith, compassion, and persistence. She sought beauty in all people, places, and things. She was a student of history, an enthusiastic reader of fiction and non-fiction, an avid gardener, and a talented photographer.

A visitation for Lynette will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:30 AM, at the funeral home. She will be interred at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN 38125.
