Lorene was born on December 14, 1924 in Tippah County, MS. She lived in Memphis and Fayette County. She resided at Heartside Senior Living in Bartlett for almost 3 years. While at Heartside she made many good friends. She looked forward to each meal friend shipping with her table mates. They laughed and had a great time together. She likes to play Bean Bag Baseball on Tuesday and Thursday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen McElroy, parents, Susan Meeks Johnson and Louis Milton Johnson, one brother Robert Johnson, four sisters, Madeline Carter, Junie Mae Miller, Elois Street, Sallie Coursey and one grandson, Jeffrey Olen Ketchum.
She leaves one daughter Susan Ketchum (Terrell), Memphis TN, one grandson, Jonathan Ketchum (Kelly), two granddaughters, Lauren and Allison of Wynne AR. She leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She loved her Lord, family and friends in that order. She was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church Memphis and attended Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church several years before moving to Heartside.
A visitation for Lorene will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
