Linda Anne Autry Hawkins

Linda Anne Autry Hawkins (Mimi), born October 14, 1939, passed into her eternal home August 8, 2018. She was an educator with Memphis City Schools for 34 years as a teacher, counselor, and assistant principal. Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who led her life just as Christ instructs – one that exudes love, joy, and compassion for others. She was a longtime member of Germantown Baptist Church. Linda leaves her devoted husband of 61 years, William (Bill) A. Hawkins; daughter, Melisa A. Beggs (Mike); son, Michael A. Hawkins (Tabitha); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Holbrook (Tyler), Savannah McBroom (Klay), Ashlyn Beggs (fiancé Tyler), William Hawkins, Hassen Hawkins, and Griffin Hawkins; and great-grandchildren Hawkins, Everley, Greyson, and Hughes. She also leaves one sister, Nancy Cox (Frank) and one brother, Danny Autry (Rosemary), and many friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 11 from noon until the time of the funeral service at two o’clock at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Interment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
