He was born in Monroe, Louisiana on June 25, 1957, the firstborn child of Lee & Eliza Harris. His relationship with his parents was very special, as they expressed great pride in his ministry work, both in the US and internationally. They were proud of his determination to be the forerunner for the Harris legacy.
He was a 1975 graduate of Banning High School in Wilmington, California. It was during his time at Banning that he decided to enlist in the United States Navy, and he dedicated his life to being a Navy man until he was honorably discharged in 1981. During his tenure, he was able to explore many parts of the world including Japan, China and the Philippines where he was based.
Lee (or as others affectionately knew him as Junior, Apostle, Big Brother or Dad) was a man with many pastimes. He loved reading, travelling and watching his favorite sports teams. His passion, however, was spreading the word of God. He received salvation in November 1984 and answered the call into ministry in 1986. He graduated from Pacific Coast Bible College with an Associate of Theology on June 25, 1987, his 30th birthday. He received his ministry license that same day and became ordained in November 1989.
He founded Word of Impact Ministries in 2002 and Dramatic Grace & Faith Church was manifested. He had a goal to uplift people and help guide others to stronger faith. In the 19 years active, Word of Impact has been a global ministry touching every end of the world. Sparked by his days in the Navy, Lee developed a strong desire to spread the word internationally. His first international ministry trip was to South Africa in 2004. This trip introduced new congregations to Word of Impact, and was the beginning of a forever growing relationship that expanded to several other countries including Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and the United Kingdom. His words were able to touch more people than even he envisioned.
Another large segment of this ministry emerged as Lee developed a substantial following on social media platforms like Facebook. After a decade of endless encouraging posts and videos, he was able to compile these words into his first book. “Woman of God: From Nowhere to Everywhere” was released in June 2019 and received rave reviews by the countless women who were inspired by it.
Lee also developed a passion for health and wellness after overcoming a number of health issues during his adulthood. He founded GLOW (Getting Lean 4 Optimal Wellness) in 2019 to spread his testimony and encourage others to take control of their lives by following a healthy lifestyle. He dedicated himself to this lifestyle by making his own exercise schedule and even adopting a vegan diet during his final year on Earth.
He was predeceased by his mother Eliza Harris and his nephew Joseph “Back Door Little Joe” Bailey Jr. (as referred to by Lee).
He leaves to cherish in his loving memory his wife Davida Harris; His father Lee Harris Sr. (Louise); Eight children: Lee Harris III (Celeste), Leticia Harris-Adams (Arthur), Camille Hester (Jamie), Cresh Harris-McFarlane (Philip), Michael Harris, Cymon Fowler (Cosie), Chontele Miller and Kennedy Harris; Sixteen grandchildren (as referred to by Lee): Dailah “Da Woman” Oliver, Denym “DenMan” Harris-Harper, Dylon “Lonnie Mac” Harris-Harper, Dylan “Champ” King, Lanai “Mooey” Harris-Harper, Darien “Twin” Mason Jr., Aniya “Smokey” White, Ayana “Tweety” White, Drake “Ambassador” Mason, Lee “L.L.” Harris IV, Noah “Grandson” Hester, Cosie “CJ” Fowler Jr., Philip “Prince” McFarlane Jr., Brielle “Pearl” Campbell, Isabella “Bella” Peralta-Harris and Yuri “Pink” Hester.
