Larry Vincent Rock, age 82, of Cordova, Tennessee passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born January 10, 1941 in Roaring Springs, Pennsylvania to Ethel May Burns Rock and George Albert Rock. He later moved to Bradenton, Florida where he spent his formative years. He served in the U.S. Navy after high school. He later moved to Memphis and retired from Yellow Freight. He was a former member of Central Church and current member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and fly fishing and loved shopping. He volunteered with the FedEx St. Jude Classic for over 20 years.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Christine Rock; sons, Joseph Rock (Kasha) and Peter Rock; grandchildren, Brody Rock and Reece Rock; and great-grandchild, Kori Wade. He is also survived by his siblings, Dawn Sandlass, Harry, Frank, and Eric Mentzer, Charlene Rock, Stephanie Mejean, Jeff Rock, and Ronald Rock. He was a good father and husband. He loved the Lord and took great care of his family.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, December 22 beginning at 1:30 PM until the funeral service at 2:30 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Interment will occur at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, at a later date.
