Katy Victoria McDowell

Katherine “Katy” Victoria McDowell, 29 years old, passed away on November 15, 2016, due to lifelong complications from Cystic Fibrosis. Born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 12, 1987, the daughter of Eddie McDowell & Deborah McDowell. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 2006 and from University of Mississippi in 2010 with a degree in Hospitality Management. She was a member of the Phi Mu sorority. Katy was a gifted artist with any medium she selected. Katy worked her dream job at the Memphis Peabody Hotel as a front desk agent, recognized for her passionate customer service by the hotel management. Everybody that knew Katy recognized her for her loving soul and beautiful smile. The family will receive guests for a catered gathering on Saturday, November 19 from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 21 beginning at 1:30p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church at 203 S. White Station Road, Memphis, TN 38117. Katy is survived by her parents; brother Preston McDowell; maternal grandparents Herb & Valerie Meader; paternal grandmother Dorothy McDowell; and several aunts, uncles and other family in the U.S. and abroad.
