Martha June Barnes, resident of Kirby Pines Retirement Center in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on February 24, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born on October 30, 1927 in Kemp, Texas to George and Jessie Bracey. June lived most of her life in Tyler and Houston, Texas, where she worked as a beautician until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and playing Texas 42 with friends and family. A life-long Southern Baptist, she remained active in her church until she was no longer able to attend.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Thomas James Barnes, son James Mark Barnes (Susan), brother Morris Wayne Bracey (Deborah), and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is pending and burial will be at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
