How inadequate are words to express my feelings of sadness over Joyce’s death.  She held a special place in my heart. She will always be “my friend.” My thoughts and prayers will forever be with the family.

I am in total disbelief as I heard of Joyce’s transition. She was the most loving and beautiful Woman of God that I knew. Whenever I would visit Memphis she would make a special effort to see me. Joyce you were my first best friend in Elementary school, we spent a lot of time as little children together at the age of 5 & 6 years old.. At that time we never knew that we would be sister in-laws for over 40 yrs.  Larry left earth 3 1/2 years before your passing. Now you both are my Angel above. Fly high sis, the two of you will for ever be missed and loved by Stephanie and me.

The family of Mt. Moriah-East is deeply sadden by the home going of our beloved Joyce Anderson, whose life celebration is Thursday, October 6, 11 AM in the main sanctuary with family hour, Wednesday October 5, 4-7 p.m., M. J. Edwards , 4445 Stage Road Chapel.  Joyce came into our lives and captured our hearts with her Christ-like spirit, support, hard work and mostly her love. We will remain in prayer for her family and ourselves as a true servant has gone from us.

Joyce was an humble servant of God who exemplified diligence in the study of God’s word. She was a person who believed in prayer and understood what prayer could do. Missing you my sister. 

My condolences to the family of Ms. Anderson. You welcomed me into my new role with open arms at Juvenile Court and Hope East. Thanks for always being kind and doing what’s best for children. You will be truly missed. 🙌🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽 


I express my condolences to the family. Ms  Anderson was a shining star.I know she is in greater hand.Ms.Anderson loved children. She always made it a point to make a difference in  their lives. I am going to continue to remember her as an example of how all of us should live our lives.


Ms. Joyce Anderson was a blessing to the COGIC TN Headquarters Jurisdiction Prison Ministry.  She allowed our Ministry to provide programs and spiritual guidance to the juvenile detainees, which were in her care.  She will be greatly missed.  Our prayer and condolences are with her family.

I met Joyce when she was a principal at Caldwell Elementary. Later we reconnected when she was providing programs for incarcerated youth. She was kind, generour, loving and funny. My heart goes out to her family. May her memory be a blessing that lives forever in all those who love her.

I will never forget our last visit to your home.  You welcomed my sister, brother and myself to a meal you had just cooked. You were caring for your father that weekend.  While he ate, we sat at the table and did the same -- talking and laughing about childhood memories and life experiences.  We all felt so comfortable, and you were inspiring to us. Family love was definitely strong. You will truly be missed.

So sorry to hear about Joyce. We taught together at Kingsbury Elementary where she was an excellent and gifted teacher and leader. She and I were the advisors for Kingsbury Elementary's cheerleaders , and we had so much fun! She will be missed. 

Cousin Joyce, missing you already. Many memories from our childhood, our teenage years and through out our adult lives. Very thankful for our mothers being 1st cousins that were like sisters.  . Norma Jean, Donald Ray,  Charlotte Faye, Marvin, Alvin,  Dennis and Michael. Love alays.

After meeting Joyce in 1997 at my mother  birthday celebration.  In 1998, Joyce facilitated a stewardship seminar at a Church and invited me to speak on the topic of health. 

My memory Joyce, She was a doer and a true giver. She gave me a book written by Professor Cone. Joyce was an avid reader. It was her birthday, I joked, “don’t party too hard.” She replied, “I am going to party next to my bed with a good book.”
