John Thomas Malloy, AWCM retired, 83, of Memphis, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. Mr. Malloy was a retired Master Chief with the U.S. Navy, serving 26 years. He was a member of the VFW, FRA, and past Commander of the American Legion in Walworth, WI. Mr. Malloy was accomplished in acting, theater, television, and film, performing in Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Norfolk, and Memphis. Mr. Malloy did national and international television commercials, including work in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was known nationally as Mr. Goodwrench. He was a member of SAG, AFTRA, and Equity as well as a member of the Guthrie Touring Company. Mr. Malloy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Faye Malloy, one son Dusty L. Malloy (Debi), two grandchildren, Joshua Malloy and Shawna Lockett, as well as two great-grandchildren, Brandon Malloy and Mayson Lockett. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6-8pm and the funeral service will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 10am, all at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Memphis. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
