He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Anne Hambrick, and his parents Ruby Morehead & Johnnie Hambrick.
He is survived by his two sons Paul (Theresa) and Jim (Terri) Hambrick all of Eads, Tennessee; four grandchildren Hilary (Eric) Taft of Washington DC, Hunter (Cara) Hambrick of Denver, Colorado, Michael (Leslie) Hambrick of Ridgeland, Mississippi and Lindsey (Matthew) Wilson of Mount Pleasant, Mississippi; three great-grandsons Jimbo and Charlie Hambrick and Henry Wilson; and sister Shirley (Billy) Jefcoat of Memphis, Tennessee.
John graduated from Mississippi State University in 1955 with a degree in Dairy Science. He and Anne moved to Memphis in 1958. He had a 55 year career as a residential contractor. They were active with Central Church in Collierville, Tennessee both until their death. He was passionate about his grandchildren, great-grandsons and Mississippi State University.
A private family service will be held on Sunday, February 7 beginning at two o'clock in the afternoon led by Pastor Matt Shackelford of Central Church. John's service will be able to be seen via Facebook LiveStream through John's personal webpage via www.memphisfuneralpoplar.com.
