John J. Friedman, III, 68, left this earth to be with our heavenly Father on January 23, 2024. After being blessed with several additional years of life after a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer, he passed at home peacefully in his sleep.
He was born in Denham Springs, La. on August 29, 1955. This was his hometown until he moved to Memphis, TN in November 1980 to work in electrical sales for Westinghouse Electric Co. He continued employment in management through the electrical field until retirement.
John was an avid hunter, fisherman, and LSU fan most of his life. But teaching children in Sunday School and serving in his church gave him more purpose and fulfillment in serving the Lord. He grew eager in sharing his faith as testimony to what God had done for him.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; three sons, John IV (Nicole), Wes (Anna), and Barry; four grandsons, Braden (Kayleigh), Dominik, Pacey, and Hank; two sisters, Jeannie Moore (Mickey), Lylah Lofton (Sterling, deceased), and a brother Mark (Laurie), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
