John lived a remarkable life from flying planes into Russia during the Cold War, to driving jaguars in road races in the SCCA. He survived a crash at 140 mph that ended his racing days. He was the past president of Engineers Club of Memphis and of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. John was a Graduate of Bartlett high school and the University of Illinois. He worked as an Engineer at Tri-State Armature for 30 years, Stellar Group in (Jacksonville FL) and PSI (Memphis). John served as President of The Engineers Club of Memphis, President IEEE (Institute of Electrical Engineers Memphis), and was a racecar driver at SCCA (Sports Club Car of America). He also served to protect our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years, Carol Boyle; son, Jayme (Kristen) Boyle; daughter-in- law, Sandy Boyle; 5 grandsons, Ashton Boyle, Lucas Boyle, Zachary Boyle, James Fluhr and David (Veronica) Boyle; two granddaughters, Allie and Anniston Boyle.
Celebration of Life services will be held at Incarnation Catholic Church, 360 Bray Station Rd, Collierville, TN on Thursday, January 9, 2020 beginning with a visitation from 9:30am until 10:30am, Funeral Mass from 10:30am-11:30am in *St. Therese Chapel with a reception to follow the burial.The interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, 824 S Dudley St. Memphis, TN. The church will have the reception set up early for those who cannot go to the graveside service.
John and Carol once hosted a family with a child being treated at St Jude for several months in their home. In lieu of flowers, the family would love a donation to St Jude made in his honor.
