We are so sad to announce the passing of our beloved John Scott Austin on August 20, 2024. After a nine month illness. Scott was born in Hattiesburg, MS on June 27, 1962. He was raised most of his childhood in Birmingham, AL. In 1980 he graduated from Mandeville High School in Louisiana. He attended Northwest MS Jr College on a full music scholarship, playing the trumpet. Then attended The University of Southern Mississippi. He was a proud Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonian. Growing up, he played most sports but excelled in soccer and even played in the adult league In Memphis. We will miss his fun and witty personality. People told him he should have been a stand up comedian. Scott was so friendly and cared deeply for others. He was a great conversationalist. Scott loved dogs, and was distraught over recent loss of his chocolate lab Barkley. He was a huge New Orleans Saints fan no matter if they were winning or losing. He was baptized as a child and was close to our Lord Jesus, especially during these last couple years. He was preceded in death by his parents Linda and Bill Austin. To cherish his memory he leaves behind his son Cory Austin, sister Kim Brown , her husband Jackie, brother Mark Austin. Two nephews, Chandler Brown and Brayden Austin, Aunts and many cousins.
We love you, Scott and will see you again in Heaven soon!
