Uncle Joe was a kind, gentle teddy bear of a man. He grew up with my mom (Mary Ann) and Uncle Richard in Olive Branch. He loved his dogs Gigi and Missy, and I know they greeted him when he got to Heaven. I would always tell him when I would see his senior high school picture, how much he reminded me of Elvis Presley. I recall how happy he was to join the Masons and then to become a 32 degree Mason. He enjoyed working on the airplanes out a the 164th Air National Guard (C-124 (Old Shakey), C-130, and C-141). The air show days were awesome and he would always plan on taking Shelley and me to those. We have some wonderful memories of him. 

Lurline, I know he will be missed by you and your family. He loved each one of you so very much. Please know that my sister Shelley and I are praying for God's comfort during this difficult time in your life. 

To my dear ‘Chapman’ family - I hope you find comfort over the next few days as you celebrate the life of Joe Emrich. He was obviously a larger than personality in your family and has meant so much to so many. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will always remember Joe Emrich as a member of the 164th Airlift Wing, Maintenence Section assigned to the Engine Shop.  Too many memories to share here as we went on many deployments together, but Joe also was an active member of the Retired Air Guard Association and will be sorely missed.  He was always the first one at the meetings and he was dedicated to his military family.  He loved the camaraderie and the fried pickles that were served at our annual dinners.  

So sorry to hear about Mr. Emrich’s  passing. I met him several times at Jeremiahs birthday parties.  And boy did he love those grandchildren.   My condolences to Mrs. Lurline, Carolyn,  Judy, Nancy, Randy and the entire family.  My thoughts and prayers are with you now and moving forward.  God Bless.  

I remember how happy  Joe was at the 25 year anniversary party at his church. He loved his wife and we loved him for that. Prayers for Ms. Lurline.  Love Mitch and Diane Frederick 

Joe was a dear Christian friend,  he is and will be missed.  I love this sweet family.  Lurline, Randy , Judy ,  Nancy and rest of family  my prayers are with you. 


I first met Joe in 2001 when I joined the Memphis Air Guard and he was working as a Tennessee State Security Officer.  We were also Scottish Rite Master Masons together.  He was a good friend and a great human being.  God's speed my friend!!

I served with Joe in the engine shop from 1980 until we retired. I considered him a very good friend. Rest in peace buddy.
