Jim Reece Reed

He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Reed Payne (Kevin)- Counce, TN, and Gina Reed Griffin - Oxford, MS., and his grandchildren, Pruitt Reed Griffin - Japan, Georgia Griffin Tanabe (Daiche) Japan, Stephen Christopher Shaw -Springfield MO, and Anna Payne Baker (Matt) - Olive Branch, MS. He also has a great grand daughter Aina Ginger Tanabe. He is also survived by his sister, Kathryn Kane Keenan (Ed), and his nephew Jim Kane, Jr., and nieces Angie Kane Cahill (Johnny), and Becky Kane Guy.

Jim and his wife Mary Jane Reed (deceased 8-17-22) loved his sister Kathryn, and their families were very close. Jim graduated from Mississippi College and went to Medical School. Due to his med school funding being no longer available to him, he became a medical supply and pharmaceutical salesman for many years with Schering-Plough. Jim served in the National Guard. His father Sam R. Reed (Lucille), was a preacher who was his Godly mentor.

Jim and his wife were online members of Church of His Presence in Daphne, AL for several years due to him no longer driving. Jim enjoyed reading the Bible and Christian books and sharing his love for Jesus with everyone he met. He also, as a hobby, hand carved many beautiful different styles and types of bird houses, which many people adored.

Words describing Jim were Godly, loving, humorous, smart, and very generous, giving to many charities. Oh what a dad he was. We will miss you, dad, but we will see you again!!!
