Jerald was born on November 17, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Betty Lou & Sam Sermon. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University and was the Vice President of SEDNA Consulting Group. Jerald served for eight years in the Army and US Army Reserve; was a pickle ball superstar, enjoyed golf, hunting, coaching and mentoring. Above all else he was a devoted “pops”, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Along with his parents, Mr. Sermon was preceded in death by his stepfather Charles Williams; granddaughter Isabella Zorzoli; and his brother Denny Sermon.
Jerald is survived by his wife of 24 years Marcelina Angelina Sermon; children Drew (Jessica) Weeks, Vennie (Ashley) Zorzoli, Marcie (Justin) Powers and Gabriella (Steven) Yarbrough; grandchildren Devoni, Charleen, Asher, Lillian, Krue, Miabella, Viviana, Angelina, Jameson and Charlie; siblings Brenda (Alan) Lancaster and Angie (Allen) Williams; nieces and nephews are Matthew, Josh and Gracie Williams; Amy Jaynes, Justin and Beth Keller, Mallory and Addie Jaynes, Emilie Massey, and Allyson and Jaxon Keller.
Family and friends will gather for an evening of sharing memories on Tuesday, July 11th from four o’clock until services begin at six o’clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
