Jenelle G. Matthews

Jenelle G. Matthews, 89, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017. She was previously employed by Anderson Clayton Cotton Co. as a receptionist and PBX operator. Her faith carried her through and she loved her Church of Christ family. She also deeply loved her own family and was very active in family reunions. Jenelle had a creative and artistic ability with fabric, flowers and decorating. She enjoyed sharing that talent with people, even strangers, by making beautiful clothes for them and taking flattering photos of them to lift their self-esteem and spirits. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Matthews; mother, Adeline Dudley Griffin; father, Edgar E. Griffin; and siblings, Russell, Everett, Zelma, Arlie, Beulah, Eula, Troy, Grady, and Gertrude. She is survived by her son, Larry Matthews (Sherry); granddaughter, Stacy Flowers; great grandchildren, Skylar and Harrison Flowers; sister, Kathleen Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews. A brief visitation will be held Friday from 10 to 11 am with her Memorial Service starting at 11 am at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. A reception will be held immediately after the service at the funeral home with refreshments and fellowship. The family would like to express a special Thank You to Baptist Trinity Hospice for the care and attention they gave Mrs. Matthews and her family.
