Janie Merle Wolfe of Munford, Tennessee passed away November 20, 2023 at the age of 78. Janie was born May 3, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee. She married the love of her life, Jerry Wolfe, on August 3, 1962 and was married to him for 60 years.
Janie loved camping, fishing, and listening to doo-wop and gospel music. She loved shopping at Burkes department store and eating at “Chicken-fil-a.” She was known for her gift of gab and for her intense love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could easily recite the birthdates of all her children and grands, along with the time each child was born. She never missed a single grandparent’s day in school and she looked forward to any occasion in which she was able to visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janie is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Wolfe, a sister Judy Sheppard, and brothers Danny Rook and Phillip Rook. She is survived by her brother Tommy Rook, sons Steven Wolfe (Kim), John Wolfe (Heather), and Bryan Wolfe (Holly). In addition to her three children, she is survived by ten grandchildren, Brent Wolfe (Ambher), Brandon Wolfe (Whittney), Brittany Wolfe, Zackary Wolfe, Landon Wolfe (Sarah), Kassidy Wolfe, Trevor Gibson, Griffin Wolfe, Lacy Wolfe and Jeremiah Wolfe. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Braxton Wolfe, Ava Jane Wolfe, Jude Wolfe, Thomas Wolfe, James Wolfe and Liam Wolfe.
Visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care in Memphis on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. with the service following at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in Memphis Memory Gardens.
