James E Thompson, 89, passed away on September 6, 2011 in Memphis, Tn. Mr. Thompson was born in Blytheville, Arkansas, a veteran of World War II, and a former Church of Christ minister. He retired as an independent claims adjuster. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Mary Elizabeth Thompson. He is survived by his son James “Ron” Thompson and his wife Barbara, grandchildren Troy Thompson, Todd Thompson, and Jennifer Waddell, and ten grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Poplar chapel. Service will be Saturday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be Saturday at 1:30 at Elmwood Cemetery Blytheville, Arkansas.
