James Richard (Dick) Roach III, 87, of Collierville, TN passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2013. Born September 14, 1926 in Dallas, Texas, he attended Southern Methodist University and was a member of Delta Chi fraternity. Dick was a proud WWII veteran. He retired from Chrysler Corp. as a marketing and sales executive after a successful career which included serving for a number of years on the Board of Directors of Mitsubishi Corp. and traveling all over the world. He attended Collierville Christian Church where he once served as a deacon. This kind and caring man, with his warm smile, will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all that knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Jean Roach; daughter Jenny Pruett (Larry) of Collierville; two grandchildren James Derek Pruett of Bartlett and Maggie Cooley (Charles); and two great grandchildren Emily and Johnathan Cooley all of Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia F. Roach; father, James R. Roach Jr; and brother, Robert Roach all of Dallas, TX. Visitation will be Friday, January 3 from 5PM -7PM and funeral services will be Saturday, January 4 beginning at 1PM all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville. In lieu of, flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to:
