Jim was born in Bolivar, Tennessee, March 13, 1947 and graduated from Catholic High School in 1965 and married the love of his life. He had a love for life that he shared with his family. He was very active in the Boy Scouting program in the old Northeast District of the Chickasaw Council. As a Scout Master he gave great encouragement to both boys and adults in their Scouting life. He spent 28 years in dedicated service to Consolidated Freightways and in 1997 was awarded the company’s distinguished President’s Circle Award.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life- Mary Alice, his parents James and Elizabeth Rainey, his sister AnnMarie, his brother JC and his in-laws Charles and Alice Stima. He is survived by his brother Michael Rainey of New Orleans, Louisiana, his children Jim Rainey and his wife Cheryl, Michael-John Rainey and Alice Rainey Berry, y and his grandchildren Steven, Christopher, Alex, Grace, Reece, Sandra, Zeus, Samuel and Solomon.
A Funeral Mass said by Father John Hourican will be held for Jim at 10:30am, Friday, March 23 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. There will be a luncheon following the service. Jim will be laid to rest later that day in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bolivar, Tennessee at 3:30pm. Memorials may be made to Christ Community Health Services.
