James P. Marbry

James Perry Marbry beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away at his home in Memphis on November 19, 2013 at the age of 82. James was born February 4, 1931 to Ed G. Marbry and Lorene Brown Marbry in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Tech High School and served in the United States Marine Corps 1951 - 1953. James retired, at the rank of Captain, from the Memphis Police Department after 25 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.G. and Lorene Marbry and a brother Edwin Marbry. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Henry Marbry; his sons Mark (Janice) of Denham Springs, LA and Greg (Marty), of Bartlett, TN; along with four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Tom Marbry (Liz), Ravenden, AR; Bob Marbry, Panama City, FL and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 13 at Family Funeral Home, 4925 Summer Avenue with interment at Memphis Memory Gardens.
