Jim was born in Tulsa, OK on March 21, 1950. He was born to Robert Clark, Sr. and Mary Pettigrew Clark. Jim had 4 siblings; Robert Clark Jr., Theresa Clark Marsala, Debbie Clark Pritchard, and Donald Clark.
Jim and family relocated from Tulsa, OK to Longview, Tx, Shreveport, LA, and finally, to Monroe Louisiana where they made their longstanding family home. In Monroe, Jim attended St Fredrick High School. He was a 3-sport athlete competing in football, basketball, and track and field. He was voted Mr. St. Fredrick his senior year. He went on to play football while attending Northeast Louisiana University, where he met his wife of 44 years, Linda Wilson Clark. Jim and Linda had 3 children: Julie Clark Joseph, Jennifer Clark Cochran, and James (Jim) Clark, Jr.
Jim, Linda, and children relocated to Germantown, TN in the Fall of 1989, where they established their long-term family home. He was an adamant sports fan following his favorite teams, LSU, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Memphis Grizzlies. He always had a positive attitude, zeal for life, and looked for the next challenge or goal to achieve in his career and his family life. His wife, Linda, passed away in March of 2020, after a long battle resulting from a traumatic brain injury. Following, Jim retired in June of 2020 from Thompson (Caterpillar) Machinery, after his 35-year career as Regional Sales Manager.
In 2022, he remarried and is now survived by his wife, Alecia Tangassi Clark. He is also survived by his 3 children, 2 sons-in-law, 7 grandchildren, and 3 of his siblings. Jim was a family man, and his greatest joy came from the love he had for his family.
Family and friends will celebrate Jim’s life with services on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8151 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, TN 38138. Visitation for Jim will begin at 1:30 p.m. and last until the funeral mass begins at 2:30 p.m. A reception to celebrate Jim's life will immediately follow the conclusion of the funeral mass.
