Mr. Baker was preceded in death by Mary, his wife of 35 years, and by his second wife of 24 years, Martha; his parents, Jim Matt and Velma Baker; his sister, Erline Walker; brothers, Maynard Baker and John Doles Baker; sisters, Billie Jean Dowling and Dillie Rae Herring; two sons, Chris Baker and Charles Speck; granddaughter, Laura Lockett and grandson, Matthew Baker.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Smith; two sons, Roger Baker (Jennifer) and Sandy Speck (Victoria); two daughters-in-law, Reba Speck and Alesia Baker; three granddaughters, Amy Speck, Mary Kate Woods (Adam), and Anna Baker; one grandson, Jesse Baker; one great-grandchild, Aradia Fredregill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy owned and operated his business, Baker Auto Parts, for many years. He sold his business to Union Auto Parts, where he continued to work until his retirement. He was a charter member of Wells Station Baptist Church in Memphis, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Olive Branch at the time of his passing, where he loved to worship the Lord.
Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be Saturday, February 13 beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon with family and friends gathering one hour prior. Bro. Bill Britton will lead the funeral service.
