Howard Lester Farris

Howard L. Farris, 92, went home to be with the Lord January 28, 2015. Mr. Farris was a SSGT with the USMC and a veteran of World War II receiving a Purple Heart. He was also a retired Pipe Fitter with Local 614. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nellie Farris and brother, Bobby Farris. Survived by his son, Franklin D. Mask (Peggy); 4 granddaughters, Renee Wheeler (Mike), Deanna Davidson, Leslie Ward (Kevin) and Susan Mask; 9 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Irene Travis; brother, Thomas W. Farris, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will begin at 2 pm Saturday, January 31 at Love Cemetery in Hernando, MS. In lieu of flowers the family asks any memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
