Henry J. Lantrip, 82, of Memphis, passed away Monday April 4, 2022. Mr. Lantrip was a US Army Veteran, serving in the 101st Airborne Division. Mr. Lantrip retired from Acoustics and Specialties. An avid woodworker and fisherman, Mr. Lantrip was a selfless and devoted family man. His children and his grandchildren ALWAYS came first. Mr. Lantrip coached girls softball for over a decade at Gaisman Park and raised appaloosas and enjoyed showing horses. He believed in giving back to his community and was always willing to help those who were less fortunate. He enjoyed square dancing and country music and he loved God. Mr. Lantrip was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mr. Lantrip was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret "Peggy" Lantrip, his parents, Eber and Amanda Lantrip, and three siblings, Myrtis Kail, Caroline Lantrip Pierski, and Curtis Lantrip. Survivors include his three daughters, Patricia Malchow (Glenn), Mary Ann Bolden (Duane), and Margaret Walker (LJ), five grandchildren, Patrick Lantrip, Sara Walker, Kayla Bolden, Gavin Bolden, and Katie Lynes, and two great-grandchildren, Aaron Lantrip and Tristan Cook. Mr. Lantrip is also survived by one brother, Jimmy Lantrip (Sandy). The family will recieve friends Friday, April 8, 2022 from 5-7pm with Rosary following at 7pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Memphis, TN. Funeral Mass will be Saturday April 9, 2022 at 11am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2564 Hale Ave. Memphis, TN 38112. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
