Helen S. Cole

She grew up in Union County, Mississippi and graduated from Center High School. After graduation she moved to Booneville, Mississippi to enroll as a student nurse. When she had an opportunity to move to Memphis, she dropped all thoughts of nursing, concentrating instead on her sharp mind and love of numbers, she began her professional career as payroll clerk, financial secretary, etc. for several private businesses. She retired from Shelby County government as Manager of Benefits.

Pat was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lilla Smith, her beloved husband C. Harris Cole Jr. and son C Harris (Bubby) Cole Ill; one sister Polly Foster; one brother Herman Smith Jr. She leaves behind two sisters ; Ann Moser (Oscar) Jean Jernigan (John) one brother Bob Smith and several nieces and nephews.

Pat was quick to laugh, quick to cry, and quick to become angry , if she thought someone was taking advantage of her! Her magnetic personality made her the life of the party, and she did love to party!
