Hazel L. Morrow, 92, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, after a lengthy illness, at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice Facility. Hazel, the daughter of the late Bertha and Oscar Cossitt, was born in Ripley, MS.She was a graduate of Tippah County High School. She became the wife of James Morrow on October 23, 1953. She was an excellent homemaker, the most amazing cook, a loving wife and mother and a wonderful “Nanny”. She was a longtime church member at Berclair Baptist Church where she served as Hostess;a position she was very happy to hold.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of over 68 years; sister, Bama Cossitt, and brothers, Louis Cossitt and Alfred Cossitt. She is survived by the couple’s three daughters, Susan Morrow Wilson (Mike) of Bartlett, TN, Lynn Morrow Zills-Snider (Ron) of Kenton, TN and Tina Morrow Bevis of Bartlett, TN; six grandchildren, Ashley M. Wilson of Bartlett, TN, Michael J. Wilson (Katie) of Bartlett, TN
Allyson Wilson Kralis, of Lakeland, TN, Kensie Zills Ogden (Tyler) of Oakland, TN, Lauren M. Bevis and Landon S. Bevis of Bartlett, TN; six great-grandchildren, Luke M. Wilson and Ryleigh K. Wilson of Bartlett, TN, Dalton A. Kralis, Ainsley J. Kralis, Logan B. Cordo, of Lakeland, TN, and soon-to-be-born Jackson C. Ogden, of Oakland, TN. She also leaves behind her brother, Boyce Shelton, of Tupelo, MS and two sisters, Betty Jean Mauney, of Ripley, MS and Loyce McNeil, of Faulkner, MS, as well as a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the celebration of life service to follow at the Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. The interment will take place at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134
