Where does one even begin?

Greg and I met during our college years  working at Grainger.   We worked together for many years along with our brother Keith Spears who died earlier this year. The three of us had many crazy and fantastic times over the years.  
Oh the stories we could tell of each other.  But their secrets are safe with me. Well, with the exception of his love for Sharon. The years he spent chasing her.  He would always say, "she just think she wants to be friends. She is going to be my wife whether she likes it or not". LOL Looks like he wore her resistance down., making him the happiest man on the planet.

He was the meanest of us telling folks the unfiltered truth whether they could take it or not.   I'm mean myself and couldn't hold a candle to Greg. Everyone knew not to ask Greg if you didn't want to hear the truth.   Heck, he might be gracious & ask, "Do you really want me to answer?"  No was often the response.

Sharing good times & bad times with loyal friends is one of the best parts of living. 

He will be sorely missed. But, never forgotten.

Meet you on the otherside my brother.

So hard to believe.  Spoke with Greg a couple weeks prior to his passing, laughing at ourselves and common experiences. Even though he kept putting me on his "Ex-Friend" list, I know his love and fellowship was always there.

To Sharon, my wife Annette and I send our deepest sympathy. 

As I heard during the loss of another dear friend years ago, "God gets tired of picking thorns out of His garden. This time He picked a Rose."

As we mourn the loss of Greg, we are comforted knowing that by his faith, he is with his Savior.

I was blessed to call him my friend and brother.



Brother… Dude where does this even begin? We were best friends for 45 years…my oldest and longest friendship. That’s a title that we shared. The crazy times, the ridiculous silly times, the serious times are now memories that won’t ever be erased or replaced. We’ve been through so much that the world wouldn’t be able to process it. Work, family, relationships (yeah mostly mine), sports, weekends at the races, we went through it all together! I will always appreciate the visits throughout the years where we acted like kids the second that either our doorbells rang…even as grown ups. 
We weren’t related through blood, but we were brothers by choice and by love. You can’t choose your family, but we got to choose each other because of the kindred spirit that we shared. Dude I will always love and think of you in everything I do. 
I consider it a blessing that we got to tell each other “I love you” the day before. Until we meet again my dude.

What great memories we shared cousin Greg, you were always so proud of being born in Yonkers, NY, and always told me and my siblings every chance you got since we were born there also. I will always remember the jokes and the I’m not playing with you face lol. There is one thing I know for sure you always had all your cousins back and made it known you were the 1st born grandchild to Dave and Mattie White. I love you cuz and will miss you dearly.

Greg was one funny, crazy guy! After his stroke in 2012, he was determined to drive. I asked how he was gonna drive with affected vision and half of his body weak. He laughed and said, "get in front of the car and let me show you".  He said he couldn't be blamed if he hit me cuz he was certified handicapped and they would blame Sharon for letting him drive! 🤣🤣
Despite life's challenges, he never lost his sense of humor... a trait we should all learn. My deepest condolences to Sharon and to all who knew and loved Greg.
