"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid...In my Father's house are many mansions"
Glenn F. Parks
Glenn Franklin Parks, 60, completed his earthly journey home to our Lord on Thursday, August 10, 2023. He was born February 19, 1963 in Memphis, TN to Glen and Martha Parks.
Glenn touched so many with his unconditional love, and his humble, gentle soul. He had a kind nature, a cheerful smile, and a great sense of humor. His charisma and charm to all who loved and knew him was a signature mark to how Glenn lived.
Glenn attended Craigmont High School and was a long time member of Raleigh United Methodist Church, and later Hope Presbyterian Church with his mother.
Glenn was a TN state certified Armed Security Guard throughout his career. He also acquired his state certifications in tactical weaponry, ASP baton, handcuffing, and chemical agents. He was also CPR certified, and held many ranks with the various companies he worked for.
Glenn took tremendous pride in his work. Like our police officers, he put his life on the line every day when he put on that uniform, badge, gun, and vest to protect and serve our community from criminals and criminal activities. Glenn easily built long lasting relationships with his colleagues and the clients he served.
Glenn was an excellent and proud marksman who enjoyed going to the shooting range to practice his skills. He also enjoyed the simple things like cookouts with his family and going fishing with his brother Johnny. When it came to food, he loved pretty much anything but especially his mother’s, his sister Glenda’s, and his sister in law Debby’s home cooking. Glenn absolutely loved Christmas and was was a practical joker when it came to his gift wrapping and disguising.
For entertainment Glenn enjoyed going to the movies, his sister’s parties, going to concerts, playing board games, family video games, watching mystery, detective, funny and scary movies and football. He also enjoyed a wide genre of music and even attempted learning how to play the guitar following in his father, sister’s and brother’s footsteps whom he looked up to.
We’ve been touched and blessed with so many fond and loving memories of Glenn that will be cherished in our hearts forever.
Glenn is survived by his sister Glenda Parks (Debby Butler), his brother Johnny Parks (Melody Poole), nephew Justin Parks, Aunts - Audrey Casey, Nancy Parks, Allie Moor, and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Martha Parks, his sister Elizabeth Parks, nephew Johnathan Parks, his Logan and Parks grandparents and uncle’s.
